On the third anniversary of Occupy Wall Street, September 17, 2014 (S17) we will be gathering in Zuccotti Park, New York City.

OWS S17 Planning Assembly welcomes you to attend a unique Occupy Movement celebration of independent and progressive media for its role displacing mainstream media in getting out our stories and related causes.

This day is also designed to make it possible for many significant organizations within and outside Occupy Working and Affinity Groups to meet and engage in conversations geared towards creating positive solutions for the social and economic justice issues facing us all.

It is likely that Zuccotti Park will be occupied all day long and that the core assembly for media and organizations would be present at least between 10 a.m to 3 p.m.

At noon there will also be special announcements by attendees about past and current successes and to call attention to important upcoming events.

Bring your banners, promotional materials, business cards, brochures, samples, t-shirts, signup sheets, whatever you’ve got. It's with appreciation and excitement that we look forward to conversing on September 17, 2014 in Zuccotti Park.

In solidarity — We are the 99%.

The grassroots opposition to President Donald Trump is hitting the streets everywhere.

It is not hyperbole to say that the world’s richest man has now illegally seized control of America’s checkbook and the entire federal workforce.

Over the next four years, we’re about to be inundated with a flood of lies—including from federal agencies themselves.

We have to be smart in how we fight against Trump and the Republican Party this time around. That means picking our battles wisely, and not taking bait that’s dangled in front of our faces.

Over the next two years, Democrats have the unfettered ability to be an albatross around the neck of the GOP — and to make sure that what little they manage to get done due to their paper-thin majorities becomes the reason for their undoing.

The way the urban commons create a space to solve material problems and enable social movements to forge city-wide networks are antidotes to people being attracted towards the far-right.
