After months of coordinating actions and events to explain the mission of the Occupy phenomenon via local media venues, the Occupy Portland Media Coalition (OccupyPDX) decided to take their message to the masses in a more direct and proactive fashion. Classy and smart, this 30-second spot targeting banks for profiting on the overwhelming debt of average Americans is an example of how a great idea can go viral.

Under our current system, you must go into debt in order to buy a home, go to school, purchase a car and start a business. Paying off that debt has been increasingly difficult as the big banks have been benefiting from defaults, and buying politicians who write laws that allow them to continue this one-sided practice.

With a spot like this, OccupyPDX lets America know that the minds of Americans that time has come to change the way we structure the economy so that those without do not have to suffer. Enough is enough.
