Grand Theft Rockaway: Money Vs. Hospitals

Grand Theft Rockaway: Money Vs. Hospitals
Mon, 11/4/2013

One year after Hurricane Sandy hit, public healthcare in the Rockaways is in some ways even more dire than it was during the storm. Other public hospitals across New York are facing similar attacks. What's behind this? One major factor is the value of the real estate the hospitals are on. Meanwhile, a statewide referendum being included in the November 5 ballot seeks to authorize the development of "up to seven" new casinos in New York state.
