The world has its eyes on Oakland as the Occupy Movement dramatically unfolds. Thousands of people with different backgrounds and ambitions are gathering to demand change. Their diversity and their stories are the strength of Occupy.

Inside Out Occupy Oakland is part of a global art project that uses large-scale portraits to transform messages of identity into powerful urban exhibitions. A creation of the artist JR, the project was the recipient of the 2011 TED Prize. Visit the Inside Out website to see stunning examples of some of the projects that are popping up in more than 9,000 locations across the globe.
