Radio Free Occupy

Radio Free Occupy
Wed, 4/11/2012

Let's face it: most of the press coverage of the Occupy Movement has not only been misinformed, but false. So a few of us with writing, speaking and audio skills created RadiOWS, a free form radio show produced by NYC Occupiers and airing on the Pacifica Network. Our goal is to amplify the message and voices of the movement through reliable news coverage, thoughtful discussion, original music, skits and whatever else we can think of to inspire, amuse and engage our listeners. We don't mind if the end result is fun to listen to; in an era where American pop culture often creates apathy, we hope to inspire the opposite.

Here we present our first show, starring the home mortgage and foreclosure crisis. Guest speakers include Jesse LaGreca, Captain Ray Lewis and Danny Schechter, among others. Our shows are free-format, which means you can pretty much start listening from any point in the show. Tune in to your local Pacifica station for our next show starring the one and only May Day!

Traditional media has failed us. We have to create our own. That's why you're here on Occupy.com. If you're good with audio and want to submit a segment to RadiOWS, contact us.
