------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

4:07 pm ET - Tom Morello has begun his concert in Union Square Park in New York with "Worldwide Rebel Song."

Live broadcast by Ustream

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3:50 pm ET - Joshharkinson of Mother Jones is reporting that OccupyOakland has just been teargassed and flashbang grenades are going off. Watch live.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2:44 pm ET - We have word that immigrants rights advocates have disrupted a press conference between former mayor Rudolph Giuliani and leading Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney at a fire station on Houston and 6th Avenue, demanding an end to the criminalization of workers and immigrants.

The wildcat march that originated on the Lower East Side played cat and mouse with police before joining up with a rally at Washington Square. Together, both marches converged on Union Square.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2:40 pm ET - Fifth Avenue has been effectively shut down in New York City by marchers. In Detroit, Michigan Avenue has been shut down. Students at Seattle Central Community College have begun their walkout.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1:18 pm ET - Three "99 Pickets" marches are converging near Bryant Park. After mic-check in front of Chipotle, the crowd will go to Bryant to see the Guitarmy. The demonstration spans the entirety of 42nd Street from 5th to 6th Avenues.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

12:44 pm ET - The march is moving west along 42nd Street. "One! We are the people, Two! We are united, Three!" The NYCLU has tweeted: "Lots of police converging at Houston and 2nd ave."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

12:35 pm ET - Two large marches have intersected at 42nd Street and Lexington Avenue. I hear drumming.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

12:25 pm ET - According to Luke Rudkowski at We Are Change, the march is headed to Grand Central, where live streamer Tim Pool is filming. There's a large police congregation outside Grand Central. So far there have been 45 arrests in New York, at 23rd Street and 3rd Avenue, for laying down in front of a Wells Fargo, Tim Pool is saying. There are also reports of white powder being sent to various offices around Manhattan. Infiltrators or overzealous anarchists or undercover officers? Who knows.

"What people should be worried about today is use of the L-Rad," or a sound cannon, by riot police, Luke Rudkowski said. "All day, all week, Occupy Wall Street!" demonstrators are chanting as they march down 42nd Street. Luke is hearing that people are trying to cross the Williamsburg Bridge.

To win the climate argument, advocates must show how Covid-19 bailout funds could be redirected – instead of making similar mistakes as the 2008 financial crisis.

The most analogous failure to the impending economic turbulence is the financial crisis of 2008, caused, primarily, by the deregulation of the financial industry.

Activists are continuing the fight but are exhausted, balancing careers and a movement, that, to most, has become a personal battle.
