Somos Todos Iguais: Connecting Police Violence In the U.S. and Brazil

Brazil is home to the largest population of African descendants outside of Africa. Despite half its population claiming African roots, Brazil's police have been implicated in what rights groups call a genocide against black people. In Salvador da Bahia, Brazil's African heartland, graffiti immortalizing Freddie Gray and Michael Brown connects the struggle of police violence in the U.S. to police violence in Brazil.
