Thousands March in Silence Against Stop and Frisk

Thousands March in Silence Against Stop and Frisk
Tue, 6/19/2012

One June 17, a crowd of 30,000 marched in silent, somber protest against the New York City Police Department's of Stop and Frisk policy, a controversial practice that has targeted 90% minorities and has resulted in nearly 700,000 people being detained, questioned and illegally searched. Officers do not need to provide probable cause or a reason.

The march, which began at 110th Street and headed south on Fifth Avenue, was attended by multiple civil rights and religious groups, unions, Occupy Wall Street activists and thousands of citizens who all strongly object to what is seen as blatant racial profiling. A silent wave of people united by a single issue proved a powerful statement: the Stop and Frisk policy. The only sound that could be easily heard was the shuffling of thousands of feet, birds in the trees and the occasional horn or siren in the distance.

They’ve defied our courts, deported Americans, disappeared people off the streets, attacked our civil rights, and slashed our services. The corruption has gone too. far. No thrones. No crowns. No kings.

A rug pull occurs when a ‘meme’ or ‘shit’ coin is created, investors pour in, and the price spikes — at which point the early stakeholders sell and tank the coin’s value, as happened with the $TRUMP token.
